Capacity Development Workshop - Cape Town

The World Bank Africa Education unit organized this workshop hosted by the Government of South Africa. The workshop gathered participants from Sub-Saharan African countries, as well as donor and international organizations representatives. The main purpose of the workshop was to share and strengthen knowledge of the education sector among participants.

Keeping Our Promises on Education - Brussels - 2 May 2007

A high level event on education, jointly organized by the European Commission, the United Kingdom and the World Bank, will take place in Brussels on May 2, 2007. The objective of the conference is to seek concrete proposals and commitments for action to deliver on the promise to give all the world's children a full primary education by 2015.

Education Roundtable - Singapore

World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz and African Development Bank President Donald Kaberuka co-chaired a special ministerial roundtable on education during the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings in Singapore on September 17, 2006. The gathering brought together finance ministers from donor and developing countries as well as representatives from multilateral agencies and civil society organizations.
