Oct. 12-13, 2009, Moldova: International Conference on Early Childhood Development

International Conference on Early Childhood Development (ECD) in the context of the Education for All-Fast Track Initiative (EFA – FTI)

The Government of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with UNICEF and the World Bank will organize an International Conference on Early Childhood Development (ECD) in the context of the Education for All-Fast Track Initiative (EFA - FTI).

The conference will be held in Chisinau on October 12-13, 2009 under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Moldova. The event aims at creating awareness and a common understanding of the processes, successes, challenges and the strategic use of funding in scaling up quality early childhood care and education services through the EFA - FTI framework. Conference discussions will focus on the experiences of promoting models of ECD in Moldova as well as in countries of the region and beyond.

The event will be attended by participants from South-East/Central Europe and Central Asia, other countries benefiting from EFA - FTI funds, UNICEF, World Bank Headquarters, EFA - FTI Secretariat, as well as Education and ECD Experts from Moldova and outside.
