2nd Capacity Development Workshop

A second Capacity Development Workshop titled "Country Leadership and Implementation for Results in the EFA FTI Partnership" was organized by the World Bank in Tunis from December 3 to 6, 2007.

The workshop brought together over 90 participants from the Ministries of Education and Finance of eight African countries: Benin, Chad, Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Malawi, Mali and Mauritania.

Local donors, members of the EFA-FTI Secretariat, representatives from the African Development Bank, the Tunisian Ministry of Education and Training, and the World Bank, as well as local and international experts in education policy and planning also participated in this event.

The purpose of the workshop, like the one in July in Cape Town, was to foster country leadership and to create a forum for national teams and donors to interact and share knowledge and experiences in the design, funding and implementation of sustainable and successful education sector plans.
