Keeping our Promises on Education

A high level event on education, jointly organized by the European Commission, the United Kingdom and the World Bank, took place in Brussels on May 2, 2007. The objective of the conference was to seek concrete proposals and commitments for action to deliver on the promise to give all the world's children a full primary education by 2015.

Conference participants included ministers of development and finance of the EU Member States, the OECD-DAC donor countries and developing countries, leaders of international organisations, civil society organisations and the private sector as well as members of the European Parliament, individual advocates and experts.

The objective of the workshop was to provide a forum for discussion around education issues in Sub-Saharan Africa, and to share knowledge and best practices across countries and organizations.
