  • New governance document for the EFA FTI partnership
March 2009 - A new fundamental document, which sets out the revised governance structure for the EFA FTI partnership, has been finalized and is available on this website. The drafting of this document was concluded after months of deliberations by a dedicated task team (consisting of representatives from developing and donor countries, civil society organisations and multilateral agencies working in education) and consultations with a wider group of stakeholders. Its main features are that it establishes a Board of Directors as the principal decision-making body and provides for closer linkages between the Board and the three trust fund committees (Catalytic Fund, Education Program Development Fund, and Education Transition Fund). In addition, it establishes an independent chair to head the Board of Directors and the three trust fund committees. The new governance structure is intended for implementation beginning July 1, 2009.
